Update: Teapot Textiles
Away from the computer screen I have been working away on these decorative shoes. I'm really pleased with how they turned out. My inspiration for the work was Tracy Emin's quilts, I love how she uses primative stitching to tell a very personal story. These are ballet shoes which I have worn untill they are completly exhausted, the decorative stitching gives them a new lease of life and a new purpose, They are now art.

An interview with: The cookie button
I would like to introduce you to The cookie button ! Although not strictly an Etsy-seller She is a on Folksy which is the british equivalent. She has been a good friend of mine scince college. Her cute creations made from thrifted fabrics really capture my imagination and I could not resist sharing them here >^.^<
How did you find out about folksy ?
I found Folksy just through browsing the web. I wanted to know if there were any U.K craft sites and after a bit of research, Folksy was the place for me :)
What is your favourite thing about being a Folksy sales-person ?
For one thing, it is a U.K craft site. There isn't any hassle in trying to convert prices (although Etsy does do this now!) and also it is quite a small craft site where I can get to know others at more of a personal level. I just don't feel lost :)
What/who is your biggest inspiration ?
The blogging community is a real inspiration to me as well as constant visits to charity shops/car boot sales. There is nothing better than finding something quite unique and then turning it into something beautiful.
How old were you when you sewed your first softy ?
I was around 17 which was when sewing became much more of a hobby for me rather than a chore compared to school. I really started to come into my own and create things which were really me.
When and Where is your next craft sale ?
I hope to do one around Christmas time and I am still looking for places to hold it. If anyone knows about any in the Somerset area then please let me know!

An interview with: Hummingbird miniatures

How did you find out about etsy ?
I found out about Etsy through the blogging community as recently as April of last year. That's when I opened my first online shop.
When did you fall in love with miniatures ?
The love affair with miniatures started at a very young age. When I was little my older sister convinced me there were tiny people living in the trees in our back garden, so I made them some tiny things out of FIMO clay.
Do you have a favourite miniature to make ?
My favourite miniature to make is the miniature glass jars of 'magic matter' I make for my Pixie Dust Miniatures shop. I love the idea of bottling up magic and selling it. www.etsy.com/shop/PixieDustMiniatures?section_id=7265768
What is your favourite thing about being an etsy sales-person ?
My favourite thing about being an Etsy seller is that I can reach people from all over the world. So much better than when I sell at fairs. Etsy is a great way for people to find me as it's much easier to search for decent miniature artisans in Etsy rather than eBay. No offense eBay...!
Whats your day job ?
My day job is in the art department of film in Hollywood, California. I make miniature scale sets. I even worked on two of the Harry Potter films. I made Hogsmeade Village as a miniature model set.

The Peculiar store name drew me in, the beautifull selection of imaculatly presented vintage dresses kept me there ! Read on to find out about a thrift store junkie with a passion for roller skating:
How did you hear about etsy ?
-My best friend (shrinkle.etsy.com) actually told me about this new website to sell on, since we were both sick of Ebay and their massive fees. She was excited about how much freedom you could have within your listings and told me to check it out. I instantly fell in love!
What does zwzzy mean ?
-It's actually a random word my dad made up for me when I was little and needed an AOL name. All the cool names like Gymnast123 and Dancer80 were taken, ha! I wanted something different and unique for my store name, and you can't get any weirder than Zwzzy!
When/why did the love affair with vintage apparell blossom ?
-I guess you could say when I was in High School, back in the 90s. My friends and I were always thrift store junkies. When I graduated and moved out, I was always wandering through vintage stores, just dying to grab everything for my closet. The styles, patterns and superb sewing of vintage dresses is such an appeal. Personally, I have a weakness for 1970s empire waist dolly dresses. I buy way too many for myself. ;)
What is your favourite thing about being an etsy seller ?
-I really love the community aspect. I was a virtual lab junkie (shout out to the Lab Rats!), and gained some friends from that. Teams are also amazing. It's great being on close teams where we're able to talk about anything and share our thoughts without worrying about being attacked.
What's your day job ?
-I work at a record store, as well as a local community college radio station. When I'm not doing something related to those 2 things, I'm doing everything else Zwzzy. Or roller skating. ;D

An interview with: Pumpkinpye
I proudly present to you my first Etsy seller interview, Read on to find out about the Challenges and rewards of being a Stay-at-home-mum with a thriving etsy buisness.
When did you first start to experiment with polymer clay ?
I first started experimenting with clay at a young age. I was 10 years old when i first started making little charms. They were not that great, but I wore them proudly!
I adore your friendship necklaces, have you ever had a custom order for a really strange or funny combo?
yes! It was a best friend combo of a pickle and a chicken wing! They came out so cute! Im sure it was some sort of inside joke, but it was fun to make!
What or who is your biggest inspiration ?
My inspiration to start my craft as a business was most definitely my daughter, Ava. I joined etsy June 11, 2008, which was the day before I was scheduled to give birth to my daughter. Ive been doing my shop ever since and if it wasn't for her, I would have never started this whole thing up as my business.
What's your favourite thing about being an etsy salesperson ?
I absolutely love being an etsy seller. Its challenging at times to keep up with all of the changes going on, but I find that it is a great marketplace for handmade artists to sell their work. I really enjoy having my shop here. I've met alot of great sellers here too that are so talented!
Do you have a day job ?
My day job is this!. I am fortunate enough to be a stay at home mom and work on my shop as a full time job. It's challenging of course. I definitely work more on my shop than I ever have when I worked for someone else! Busy months, I work on average 6 days a week! November and December, I do 100+ hours a week working on orders for the holidays! It's crazy!

Profile: Teapot Textiles
My name is Lilly and I have an etsy addiction.

And now that's out in the open I will tell you why I am here: I am going to bring you the cutest, kitchyest finds from etsy.com ! featuring interviews with sellers and Treasuries curated by myself.
And now for a little info about my shop:
What is the meaning of the name 'Teapot Textiles ?
It's just a cute name I picked at random, I guess 'Teapot' is the random bit and 'Textiles' is my main area of interest. The shop was formerly know as 'Libbi-kate art and textiles' selling handmade knitwear, but I feel the new title allows me to sell a more varied stock.
How did you hear about etsy ?
I was googling for 'places to sell arts and crafts online'
Tell us about your shop ethos ?
TT is about a love of tea parties and recycling.
What is your favourite thing about being an etsy seller ?
I love all the kind comments and feedback I get from my customers. I haven't sold many things but every customer has been thoroughly satisfied with their purchase.
What's your day job ?
I am a full-time art student, studying towards my BA in fine art.
